SHB - City and Guilds NVQ in Hairdressing

At SHB we are very proud to be able to teach NVQ Level 1 + 2 + 3 Hairdressing in the salon. We are currently acting as a satellite centre for Cornwall College. In the near future we hope to become City and Guilds accredited which will mean we can provide more opportunities for apprentices. We take on up to 5 apprentices at one time and teach a very comprehensive version of the NVQ which far exceeds the maximum level required by City and Guilds. This means that apprentices that qualify through SHB Education will be qualified and experienced enough to start working on the salon floor immediately.

Some students may need to attend college on occasional days if they need to complete the functional skills component of the course.

We normally start recruiting for apprentices towards the end of the school year to allow us to complete Level 1 before starting their Level 2 in the Spetember of that year. This means that most students will be qualified in less than 18 months. If you would like the opportunity to train with us and perhaps even earn yourself a permanent position with us please drop your CV into the salon, preferably with a recent photograph of yourself attached.

We are now looking to start the recruitment drive for apprentices for the 2011 placements so get your CV into us as quickly as possible as the start date will be mid July 2011.
