SHB
started its life nearly 30 years ago as Stuarts, a small hairdressing salon
in the basement of a hotel in Penzance, Cornwall. Stuarts quickly became the
place to go when getting your hair cut, coloured and styled.
The salon became so popular that the need to move to bigger premises became
a necessity and that is when the business moved to a much larger building
in Market Jew Street. As part of the relocation a Beauty Therapy department
was opened to compliment the hairdressing side of the business.
In 2007 the original owner decided to retire and the whole business was taken
over by a new management team. In just 12 months since the take over the salon
has won awards for excellence within the hair and beauty industry and boasts
some great accolades in national hairdressing competitions.
The new management are pushing the boundaries of hair design with their current
team of stylists and an ongoing training scheme with the salons colour company
Goldwell ensures that the colourists and stylists are at the 'cutting edge'
of hairstyling and colouring. Regular cutting days at the TIGI Academy have
proved most beneficial with the younger stylists, especially those who specialise
in very modern and off the wall styles.
Since the new team moved in the Beauty Therapy department has undergone an
overhaul and now proudly uses Dermalogica products for facial treatments.
As with the hairdressing, the beauty therapists attend regular training courses
to keep up to date with the latest treatments, products and techniques.
SHB has enjoyed a long and eventful life so far and will continue to exceed
its clients expectations with its level of service.
